Guest Post: Rachel

The Hourglass Door.jpg
Hey! This is Rachel from http://www.wethrowrocksatcars.com!

The Hourglass Door by Lisa Mangum

The Hourglass Door is another book centered around the paranormal, like most "teen" books these days, and normally I wouldn't have picked it up, but something about it made me want to read it (probably the cover, isn't it ironic that publishing companies want you to judge a book by its cover, but everydoby else doesn't?). It's about a girl who meets a "foreign exchange student" from italy, she knows she should stay away, but something draws her to him (where have we read this plot before?). Honestly, this book is a little repetitive, it's the basic romance that hundreds of other books have done in the past few years, except the main characters are both human, technically. Most of the paranormal books have human+vampire/Werewolf/ghost and a million other strange pairings. I like that in this book the paranormal part lies not in the characters (mostly), but in a sort of "technology", a time machine. It's different, I mean the time machines been done a million times before too, but not quite in this way. I don't want to give too much away, so you'll just have to go read it yourself (and you might get the chance to win a copy, when I hit 50 followers there will be a small giveaway on my blog).

I honestly loved this book, and I'll definately be getting the other two in this series, and you might see a review of them on my own blog. It's a fun, interesting book that I couldn't put down.

I want to say thank you to makeupaddict22 for giving me the opportunity to write a guest post for her. :) And I would really love it if you would all go check out my blog and follow if you like it.

Makeup Tutorial:)

Hey girls! I want to apologize again for my lack of posts, I have been so so busy with cheer practice, fundraising stuff, and a short trip. I haven't had a moment to even think about doing a post. Things are settling down a little bit for now, but I probably won't be doing as many posts as I have in the past. I will do my best to have 3 or 4 a week. Thanks for your support! Now for a tutorial that I have been using lately with my new palette from Urban decay! This has been requested because of the color woodstock, pink can be a frightening color to wear, but I have fallen in love with the look that I use it for:) I was personally told by a very lovely lady at Sephora that this look was perfect for blue eyes. (It is also the look I will be wearing for my pictures, but more dramatic!)  Here you go!
Start with priming your eye (I'm using Urban Decay  Primer Potion in Sin)

Pat a light color on your eye from lid to brow (I am using Verve from Urban Decay's Roller Girl Palette) I prefer the more shimmery shadows to the matte, but you can substitute with whatever you would like

Work a darker color into your crease (I am using Roach by Urban Decay, it's like a dark kind of purplish brown, it's gorgeous and a little goes a long way, so I would definitely recommend this)

Next pat your pink into the center of the lid, blend  lightly around the edges (This is Woodstock from Urban Decay's Roller Girl Palette)

This is how it should look when you are done with the shadows (Feel free to line your  upper lash line, and  finish off with mascara)

Finished look (I have also lined my bottom lashline  halfway with the Urban Decay's 24/7 liner in Whiskey as well as put mascara on my bottom lashes) Also, sorry for the picture....I had just finished cheer practice and I wanted to do a tutorial really quick!

I hope you all enjoyed this look! I would love to see your variations of this so link me some pictures in the comments! Again I apologize for not posting! xoxo
